Who We Are
Sufinda (short for sustainable finance data) is a not-for-profit organisation headquartered in the UK, set up to support the global community of climate and sustainable finance researchers, decision makers and investors. It is the holding company for the Climate and Sustainable Finance Data Initiative, a unique data project combining relevant country information, multi-level and multi-sectoral financial data and assessment of progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Our Vision
We envision a future in which accessible, standardised and comparable datasets agreed by a global network of experts and sourced by domestic researchers provide a strong basis for adequate amounts of climate and sustainable finance to flow to, across and within developing and transition economies.
Our Objectives
Our primary goal is to facilitate the acceleration and dissemination of research into climate and sustainable finance flows to help accelerate global progress towards climate change mitigation, adaptation and sustainable development. To do so, we are working to achieve four interconnected objectives.
01.
–
Develop a network owned by partners across developing and transition economies, to facilitate learning, policy transfer and entrepreneurship.
02.
–
Build capacity by training local partners in data collection and entry, quality control, business model development and financial analysis, using an established online and face-to-face pedagogy.
03.
–
Use the database to visualise and assess progress towards achievement of the climate change goals of the Paris Agreement, and the UN SDGs.
04.
–
Provide investors with the information they need to make funding decisions and grow global climate and sustainable finance.
